It looks like I’ve finally gotten this blog website up and running! I must have spent six to eight hours building—and breaking—things along the way.
One of the first issues I ran into was the website not loading properly, though I still haven’t identified the root cause. Ultimately, I redeployed the cloud instance with Ubuntu instead of Oracle 8, as I’m more familiar with it. Now, the website loads not only for me but also for others—and at a much better speed.
Another challenge was using Podman instead of Docker. While they’re fundamentally the same, the slight command-line differences led me to rely on ChatGPT for troubleshooting. In the end, I transitioned back to Docker on the new virtual machine simply because I’m more comfortable with it.
Now, the next step is deciding on a theme and format that I like.
I envision this blog as a space to discuss and demonstrate Cybersecurity, Network and Server Administration, Cloud concepts, and Management skills. My tentative posting schedule will be bi-weekly or monthly, with a technical deep dive each quarter—something hands-on, like malware analysis or configuring a new setup in my home lab.
I also plan to include general life updates. Right now, I’m studying for the CIPP/US, so you may see some data privacy concepts appear here from time to time.
Thanks for stopping by!
